Duryea Days
Duryea Days (September 4) is held in Community Park in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. This show has been around for 45 years, has a huge following, and is a benefit for the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. Last year, there was a large diverse selection of vehicles including trucks, Antique Cars and muscle cars.  This show also has a large Flea Market vendor area that has jewelry and many other items in addition to car-related vendors. Pollock Auto Restoration will be right across from the museum tent. You can take a shuttle bus over to the museum.
Ludwig’s Corner
Ludwig's Corner (September 6) is another great car show to attend. It is combined with a horse show, so plenty to see and do in a country fair setting. There is plenty of parking and great food. The car show is hosted by the Historical Car Club of America (HCCP).

St. Phillip Neri Church Car Show - July 23
This is a small, local show held in the church parking lot in Pennsburg. It has turned into an annual show, this year drawing approximately 50 cars. There was a wide range of vehicles from the 1940s through 2010. I personally enjoyed all the small replicas cars. I drove a 1962 Plymouth Valiant and was getting a lot of attention from the crowd until two General Lee’s showed up and parked right next to me!

Doylestown at Dusk Car Show -- July 31

The quaint little town of Doylestown was swamped with more than 500 cars that showed up for a lovely evening car event. There were hot rods, a few rat rods, a lead sled, and tons of muscle cars. The show used to be at Central Bucks West High School on a Saturday afternoon; I think they have made a great move changing to an evening show in the center of town. Pollock Auto Restoration brought two cars: a 1962 Imperial LeBaron and 1948 Plymouth Convertible coupe.

Das Awkscht Fescht – August 6-8
This show was celebrating its 47th year in 2010 and is extremely well run for the size to which it has grown. The vendor area keeps expanding. Though not as big as Hershey, it is a great source for parts, body panels and information.

Each day a different group of cars is on the show field. I walked the field on Sunday and was impressed with the showing from so many different car clubs and marques. My favorite was the 1960 pink Cadillac. I just love those large fins!

The Crosley Club had about 15 different cars and I got to see what I Crosley Hotshot looked like. I can't even imagine my father racing one of these small compact cars but I was talking with one of the club representatives and he said the engine was easy to bore and stroke and was a great little racecar.  Next year, I plan to experience more of the show and vendor area.

Under the Stars Car Show -- August 14
The "Under the Stars Car Shoe, sponsored by Perkasie Olde Towne Association  and the Good-Time Motorvators, was a wonderful local show. The evening was gorgeous and there was quite a variety of cars to look at.

1916 Biddle Model D Touring Car

Once again, Pollock Auto Restoration has teamed up with the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles to freshen up the museum’s 1916 Biddle Victoria.

The Biddle has been invited to this year’s Radnor Hunt Concours Show on September 16; the museum wished to have the badly chipped paint on the cowl and the driver’s door stripped and repainted. Our painted, Curtis Bohn, matched the reversible paint and re-sprayed this area.

This “Victoria Touring” style Biddle was as elegant as the Philadelphia family name it carried. It is powered by a proven 4-cylinder Buda engine, and driven through a four-speed transmission.

The original price of a Biddle, depending on the model, ranged up to $4,100.The company built cars in Philadelphia, and later in New York, from 1914 until 1922.

Vintage Auto Parts for Sale

Our 26,000-square-foot shop in Pottstown has turned out to be a treasure trove of old parts. It seems like every day we find another stash of parts hidden in a corner of the building.

In some cases, we can identify the part and put it to good use. But in the vast majority of them, the application is unknown – we simply don’t know what car these parts go with. And that’s a shame, because we know there are owners out there frustrated as they scour the Earth for these hard-to-find parts.

“We want to put the parts back into the hands of people who can use them,” says Pollock owner Mike Engard.

Check out our selection of vintage auto parts. We might just have the one you’ve been looking for!
