 Austin Healey 3000 & Jaguar XK150-S

by: Ross Belovich, Shop Foreman

I wanted to take this month to highlight some of the fantastic metalwork our techs perform and the tools they use. Below are some of the pictures of an Austin Healey 3000 and a Jaguar XK 150-S Roadster that we are currently working on. Both of these vehicles are undergoing extensive metalwork.  The Healey is an undamaged one-family car that had a significant amount of rust to remove and replace with new steel. The Jaguar is a rare car being 1 of 36 of the 3.8 litre cars out of 924 roadsters in total for the 4 year production run.

Das Awkscht Fescht

August 3-5, 2018

by: Kim Spiece

This year's Das Awkscht Fescht was one we soon won't forget. With the soggy weather and sometimes torrential downpours, people still brought their cars out to attend this event, known as one of the country's largest antique and classic car shows. This year's featured car was the Packard. There were many vendors in the flea market area, arts & crafts, food and live music every day. Below are some of the photos taken at the 3 day event.
My two picks of the show are pictured below, a beautiful 1953 Hudson Hornet owned by Carl Billig from Kutztown PA and a 1928 Packard 443 owned by Richard Wainwright from Lumberville PA.
A few more shots pictured below of some fine vehicles in the field at Macungie Memorial Park during Das Awkscht Fescht.

New Hope Auto Show

August 11, 2018
By: Dave Hutchinson

This year was not quite 200 cars that showed up out of the 265 that were pre-registered for the New Hope Auto Show due to a dismal weather forecast. The day actually turned out to be nice and many American classics showed up for the now single day event until construction is completed. As in the past, proceeds went to support the volunteer organizations that help put on the show, scholarships for the students at Solebury High School and Fox Chase in Philadelphia.

Corvettes at Carlisle

August 23-26, 2018
By: Kim Spiece

Corvettes at Carlisle in its 36th year showcased the 50th Anniversary year display of the 1968 Corvette.  There were models from the 50's to late models up to 2019. Did you know in 1968 that the first federal seatbelt law was passed requiring all new cars to have them installed? Seems like so long ago.  Special guests were on hand as well as most top manufacturers of today's car products. There also were tech seminars throughout the weekend and an assortment of automotive flea market vendors spread throughout the grounds.

Monterey CA

August 23-26, 2018
By: Dave Hutchinson

On our way to Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance we decided to make a pitstop and boy was it worth it. While in Monterey, we happened upon Reggie Jackson's classic car collection at an undisclosed location possibly near Seaside CA. After 21 seasons in the majors and setting a record of 563 homeruns, Reggie retired in 1987. It appears he has been very busy as a serious care collector. While walking through his collection, it was easy to see that he had the best of late 50-60's GM, many Yenko's along with an early Ford V-8 and a couple of V12 Ferrari engines. He also had an original 427 Cobra as you an see in one of the photos. He also has a large assortment of 70-80's mostly Japanese motorcycles parked handle to handle. A very helpful young man gave us a tour through the closely parked cars. Reggie collects funds for his tours and donates the proceeds to a local charity known as Mr October.  Well worth the stop, if you can find him!

by: Kim Spiece

Did you know that this museum is right in our very own backyard. It is a really cool place to visit and I think everyone should add it to their Bucket List.  They are preserving Pennsylvania's history located in Boyertown PA. They are open 7 days a week except major holidays.  The museum preserves and educates people about our local transportation history from cars and trucks to wagons and carriages. They also have automotive literature on display.  I won't spoil it and leave some information for you to find out on your own and only a few photos to share here. By all means check them out and read more information about them here: . You won't regret it.
